  Today at @alphaonelabs I opened a box from strangers in Alabama and bit into its contents as part of the 2012 Global Hackerspace Cupcake Challenge.  Although Makers Local 256’s contraption didn’t quite keep the pastry perfectly suspended in the box, the cake earned major points in being moist, delicious, and intact.  In 2011, Alpha One Labs sent a cupcake to TOG in Dublin, but the antifreeze might have made it somewhat less appetizing.
